Clutches are probably burning out. To check to see if they all you have to do is turn your vehicle on put it in neutral give it a minute or two for the vehicle to build pressure and then remove the transmission dipstick if there is one and check the color and smell of the fluid if it is dark and smells burnt then you need to have your transmission serviced because your clutch discs are burned up.
The 4x4 slipping means that the transmission for the 4 wheel drive is not engaging like it should. The 1996 Honda might need to have the trans-axle repaired.
Low transmission fluid Overheated fluid, too low capacity or a blown tranny If it is a manual, you might wanna replace the clutch.
Your clutch might be going out if the transmission seems to be slipping. I would advise bringing your car to a garage before further damage or even an accident results.
You might have transmission problems....especially if your trans was slipping before this. or you might have power problems with your engine.....check and see if all your spark plugs are firing.
Poor acceleration in a Toyota Lucida Estima can be attributed to several factors, including a clogged air filter, worn spark plugs, or issues with the fuel system, such as a failing fuel pump or dirty injectors. Additionally, problems with the transmission, such as low fluid levels or slipping gears, can hinder acceleration. It's also worth checking for any engine warning lights that might indicate underlying issues. Regular maintenance and diagnostics can help identify and resolve these problems.
Since the Mighty max engine is running good, look at the transmission. An automatic might be slipping, and the clutch could be slipping in a straight drive.
I have 2005 Nissan Maxima and the transmission started slipping at 20 mph. The dealership told me that tranny is bulletproof, it might be something else wrong with the car but a local tranny shop told me that in will need to be replaced. Does any one know what to do in my case? please let me know by callin (916)606-9627 or emailing me at eugenebal@netzero.com thanks.
If its an automatic the transmission is slipping and will either need a fluid and filter change or rebuilt altogether. If it a straight drive it may need a synchronizer replaced
You MIGHT be able to solve the problem if you haven't damaged the clutches already. Drop the transmission pan, check for large chunks of debris in the bottom of the pan, if you don't have much more than about a tablespoon, you MIGHT be able to change the filter, re-fill it with fluid and maybe it will work... probably not. Once a transmission starts slipping it usually needs a rebuild.
I'd check the transmission fluid level first and then for a slipping band inside the transmission.
If your pressing your brake when shifting it could be the neutral and park sensor. Or the linkage. If its the linkage you might have problems with your transmission slipping and shifting by its self or into certain positions easyly than others.
Answermight be because oil is dirty, and filer in clutch needs to be cleaned. n0rtpossibly linkage out of adjustment or if it's the same gear it could be wornthis might be one reason why it could be slipping chain might be loose??
