Because the translated Bible versions today are very easy to read by anyone. It is good because many can begin learning about God, thus building on a relationship. However, for those that are prideful, such as the Pharisees were, The Bible can be used as a weapon (in other words quoted word-for-word but not the way the scripture was intended by God as the prideful use it in manipulation and for personal gain). The Holy Spirit is like a personal decoder in discovering the depths of the Bible where black and white text only covers just the surface. One scripture could have several messages behind it that better the Kingdom of God. The Holy Spirit brings Revelation to the word.

The old testament scriptures were the only thing the apostles had.. It is possible that some of the New writings did pass from the hand of one to another who was close by. But, anyway, what they knew was corrected by the Holy Spirit if it had errs... I heard a man say if the apostles could not find the right word to fit the sentence, the Holy Spirit would supply it... Might be some truth to that for there are no errors in the Bible, unless they were added by someone that was copying or translating...

I am taking it that you understand that the spirit is that which is within each and every living thing. Two answers come to mind with your question. One is that when we are troubled, it is not the body but the spirit within that is troubled. To put the spirit to rest we must overcome the problem that troubles it. We may have argued with a friend and now are troubled by it. Our spirit will not be at rest until we make ammends. The second is not of our doing, that is unless we kill someone. When a person dies, the spirit within that person is now at rest from all earthly cares and is returned to the spirit world.

The spirit (Consciousness) of the person goes to a higher plane of existance. the spirit is not in the body when it is burned unless you get burned alive.

Our umpire will be peace of heart. Disengagement is not an option for a serious Christian, unless the Spirit is guiding one in that direction. Even then, it is not a disengagement with God--though perhaps, at times, with man.
