Assume a Delta connection (triangle connection) is closed. then each corner of the triangle, as one point, is considered 0 Volt. Now if you open that point, still you have 0 Volt.
Probably the reason is in the different voltages between the star and delta connection voltages. An electromagnetic brake designed for the lower voltage of the star connection would burn out or open when introduced to the higher voltage of the delta connection.
A: All batteries will eventually fail when that occurs the voltage out of then can be zero or higher voltage when new, In that case the battery has failed but if you measure the output it will have a higher voltage because there is no load or open circuit as soon as the load is applied the voltage just disappear this condition is called open circuit voltage
transformer is busted; if input voltage is normal you have short circuit or open circuit somewhere
You never ever ever ever under any condition open the secondary when primary current is flowing.
A: Nothing will happen if the load increases or even removed the voltage will go to the open voltage condition no harm.
One of the three phase contacts in the star contactor could be burned open or just open not allowing the motor to start because of a single phase condition. The time interval between star and delta connections could be small enough that the motor heaters will not catch the single phase condition and trip. When the motor goes into delta (which is now across the line starting) all of the three phase contacts in the contactor close and the motor starts.
A timer in star delta starter for a three phase motor is an electronic device designed to do the change over or transition from star connection - using which the motor suns on a reduced voltage and current and produces less torque - to the delta connection necessary for running the motor at its full power, using high voltage and current to produce a high torque. The timing interval that is set is dependent how long the motor needs to start up from standstill to normal speed. Some motors require 15 seconds for the initial startup in star connection and after that given value of time the timer signals to the star contactor to go to the open position and the main delta contactor to go to the closed position, thus forming the delta circuit.
When a circuit is in off condition then it is called an open circuit..
A normal diode with reverse voltage in excess of its rated breakdown voltage could fail. Resistance could be high (blown open) or low (shorted).
The voltage measured across an open in a series circuit is the equivalent of the sourse voltage.
The open post voltage in electronics is the maximum voltage available from a solar cell. This will occur at zero current.
There some kind of relays that need measure zero sequence voltage. For instance: - To polarize a phase-to-neutral distance relay - To detect a fault-to-ground in a system grounded by thre-phase generator with star connection. A TP in a star-open delta connection can provide a 3V0 information.
