The issue is not as much if you should have phones in school as it is "Should you have your phones turned on in school?" Not everyone will agree, but my answer to that is absolutely not, just as students should not use their school time to play Video Games, be on social media, etc. Though school may not seem like it is all that important while you are in school, paying attention, doing your homework, and making the most of the opportunity to learn is something you may very well appreciate later in life. Having cell phones turned on at school is not condusive to having your attention on your classes.
