i m not pretty much sure about this but i think these both are different fields and there is no comparison in between them. People may say science is better due to two reasons:
1. the time period of commerce is over.
2. science is a more vast stream than commerce.
the reason why the time period of commerce is over because it was much popular in 80s and 90s so many people have already qualified for it.
now the basic need is to move up in the field of science.

Its hard to give a final statement on which is better the science or commerce. The thing is people have different minds, commerce has its own value it helps to manage businesses whcih could be sciences like pharma business reqiuers scientists to prepare medicines but the people who regulates the business are from the commerce field. Religiously science is better and the best, because Allah tells you to look upon what He has created, find what He has hidden and to utilize the blessings of science.
