There are a number of good reasons why Christians care about the environment. One is they recognize it is made by the creator whom they worship and so caring for the environment is part of their service to Him. Secondly, they recognize God placed mankind as head over the creation (see Genesis 1:28) which also includes the responsibility to manage the earth wisely. Christians also recognize, in perspective that the creation is 'subject to decay' because of sin, and so one day, in the not too distant future all wrongs will be set right, including 'wrongs to the environment' and there will be a 'new heaven and a new earth'. Under the rule of Christ there will be no such thing as 'environmental terrorists', pollution , oil slicks, pesticide residues etc etc

∙ 11y agoCaring for the environment is part of Jesus' call for us to "love our neighbours." If we do not care for the environment, and others suffer as a result, we are failing to fulfil Christ's command.
