Why should Christians involve themselves with scientific developments?

For most Christians, involving themselves in scientific research or applied science is not an issue of faith, because they see no conflict between religious belief and scientific theory. However, for some Christians there is a problem, because their views on religion are contradicted by the scientific evidence. Involving themselves in understanding science can help them to understand that science need not prevent them from being Christians. After all, if a religion is based on truth, it must be capable of adapting as we find out more about the natural world.

For many Christians, science can be a rewarding and satisfying career. There is no reason to attempt to discredit science simply to maintain a narrow view of what religion means. And an education that includes a sound knowledge of modern scientific theories can open the mind and broaden our perspectives. Science allows us all to contribute to the betterment of mankind.
