Juliette Gordon Low is the founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA). She also helped get the international organization, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) established.
She has been honored on stamps- and a Cargo ship was given her name during World War II. Of course the organizaton she founded- the GSUSA is a living monument of sorts.
PAUL REVERE should be honored because he made a big difference in american history
Juliette Gordon Low is best known for founding Girl Scouts in the United States in 1912. She was born in Savannah, GA in 1860, married William Mackay Low in 1886. She was well-educated, enjoyed the arts, especially painting and sculpting, and traveled. Sir Robert Baden-Powell, founder of Boy Scouts, influenced his sister, Agnes Baden-Powell to start Girl Guides. Juliette Gordon Low assisted with Girl Guide troops in Scotland and felt that a similar organization should be started in the USA.
Juliette Gordon Low faced many obstacles, the main one being her hearing loss. Her marriage to Willy Low and his death and leaving much of his property to another woman was another obstacle Juliette faced. Being a woman in that time period also created obstacles which was the main reason Juliette felt that Girl Scouting should be brought to as many girls as possible.

Juliette Gordon Low had hearing problems. Sometimes she would use her hearing problems to pretend that she did not hear someone when they tried to tell her "no" when she was asking them to do something for Girl Scouts. Otherwise she would ask people to talk into her "good ear", the one with the most hearing.
Juliette Gordon Low's leadership style was mostly Visionary. She had a vision for what she wanted for Girl Scouts of the USA, she was excited about what she wanted for the organization, and she worked hard to get people to support her vision. However, once she got people to support her vision, she would move on to another project and leave them wondering what decisions they should be making and what decisions they should refer to Juliette. As the organization grew, those she left in charge were able to convince Juliette that she should leave the day to day decisions to those she had put in charge and to allow for the creation of a governing board for the organization. This allowed Juliette to use her visionary leadership on other projects, such as creating an international Girl Guides and Girl Scout organization.
The most well-known accomplishment of Juliette Gordon Low is that fact that she started the first troop of Girl Guides/Girl Scouts in the United States and is considered the founder of Girl Scouts of the USA. Before Juliette brought Girl Guiding to America, she also helped start Girl Guide troops in London and Scotland. Juliette also helped found the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. Juliette Gordon Low was also quite an artist. Visitors to the The Juliette Gordon Low Girl Scout National Center (or Birthplace) in Savannah, Georgia will see sculptures crafted by Juliette along with a wrought iron gate also crafted by Juliette. During the Spanish American War, Juliette helped her mother set up a convalescent hospital for wounded soldiers returning from Cuba.

Even though Juliette Gordon Low was deaf in one ear and the other ear was damaged, she never lost her positive outlook and sense of humor. She founded Girl Scouts of the USA even though girls were told they should stay home and be home makers. She even used her deafness to her advantage by pretending she didn't hear someone when they tried to tell her "no".
They should be honored for their great sacrifice to keep this country free.
Savannah, Georgia. In fact a biography of her is entitled Lady From Savannah. In order to start the first American Girl Guide troop, Juliette Gordon Low called her friend, Nina Anderson Pape, who was the principal of a girl's school. Miss Pape suggested a group of girls who went to Mr. Hoxie's camp in the woods each Saturday. The daughter of Juliette's cousin was a member of the group and was able to interest all the girls in joining the first American Girl Guide troop. Juliette also registered her niece, Margaret "Daisy Doots" Eleanor Gordon as the very first member, although Margaret did not attend the first meeting.
