Pluto is a very different planet from all of the planets in our solar system. It is has not been explored yet and it could have many vital materials our resources that Earth is running out of. If Pluto had these resources it would be very great for Earth and the survival for all of mankind!!!Did that answer your question?
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) changed Pluto's status in 2006, after the discovery of numerous Pluto-sized bodies in trans-Neptunian space. Rather than constantly argue the status of these bodies, it "demoted" Pluto. The International Astronomical Union met in Prague in June 2006, and created guidelines on the designation of celestial objects as "planets". A planet was defined as a body that # Is in orbit around the Sun, # has sufficient mass so that it assumes a hydrostatic equilibrium shape (nearly round), and # has "cleared the neighborhood" around its orbit. While Pluto met the first two standards, it seems unlikely that Pluto will ever sweep the Kuiper Belt of other asteroids, enlarging itself and clearing its neighborhood. For this reason Pluto, and several other interesting identified Kuiper Objects, are not considered to be major planets. This third standard dropped Pluto into the new "dwarf planet" category, along with Ceres, Eris, Makemake, and Haumea, and possibly more in the Kuiper Belt. More on the Kuiper Belt Pluto is not the only large object in its region, as is the case for the rest of the solar system. Pluto and its moons are now understood to be part of a group of bodies called the Kuiper Belt, which extends from the orbit of Neptune out to 55 AU (astronomical units) from the Sun. Astronomers estimate there may be 70,000 icy objects similar to Pluto, some measuring over 100 km across, in the belt. So, according to the new rules, Pluto is not a planet. It's just a large Kuiper Belt object (KBO). == ==
It is so far away and the purtubation of the outer planets are still not fully understood for all we know it could be the size of mars. And that's still a planet.
It shouldn't. Pluto doesn't meet the qualifications to be classified as a major planet.
evidence that you think shows that Pluto should or should not be classed as a planet
The planet Neptune crosses the orbit of Pluto in an elliptic orbit
It should not be a planet. It didn't meet all the required things to be a planet. it has enough mass , orbit our star, but can't clear the neighbourhood, to pull in or push out debris in it's orbit.
I don't think so because we are discovering more Pluto like bodies in the solar system and we either have to make these planets or put Pluto into a new category (of Dwarf Planets) along with these.
All of the other planets were named after Roman gods. Venetia Phair came up with the idea because she thought that this planet should follow suit.
It is now known as a dwarf planet because there remain many other objects in Pluto's orbital pathway. Pluto has not cleared most of this "debris." There are, as well, larger objects than Pluto in the Kuiper Belt.

Pluto is too cold to be a planet Pluto is made completely out of ice

Neptune has been the farthest planet from the sun for 20 years due to Pluto [the dwarf planet] passing through it's orbit . Since the reclassification of Pluto as a dwarf planet rather than a planet, in 2006, Neptune will remain the farthest planet, regardless of Pluto's position in it's orbit.
Pluto, it is now a dwarf planet or planetoid.

Pluto is a moon because it doesnt have enough gravitational pull to be a planet
They wanted a Roman or Greek God Name for the new "Planet". PL honored the astronomer who discovered that Pluto should exist.

no because it doesnt have all the requirements for a planet to have
