Physicians should be consulted if there are no signs of progress after a month of self treatment.
The skin on your face is very sensitive and scars easily, so any wart removal needs to be done by a physician. The wart can either be 'frozen' or 'burnt' off by a doctor.
Generally, a primary care doctor should be able to treat a wart. In extreme cases, you may be referred to a dermatologist to treat the wart. If your wart is not too bad, you may be able to treat it yourself at home with an over the counter product.
After you have had freezing treatment to a wart, it should fall off within 2 weeks. If the wart does not fall off by itself in 2 weeks, then you should visit your doctor so he/she can remove it for you.
