As long as he keeps himself clean and bathes or showers daily there is no problem. Although many boys find it uncomfortable to go without underwear for long periods.
It is more hygenic to wear underwear.

Most boys of my age (13) really need to because you've got certain bits that you have to keep supported. Even with underwear they get on your nerves, especially in gym class. Without underwear on they drive me up the wall!

∙ 14y agoI'm 13 and I have red and yellow briefs, and some white ones with spots on too. I do get teased about my underwear in the locker room, but I don't know if that's just because of the colour or also because I don't wear boxers.
