What are the benefits of animals in the circus?

We tried using puppets and actors in animal costumes, but no one would come to see the show.

the answer lies within our head. every human brain is wired to greed power. this political subconscious mind of ours wanted to have the knowledge and control to something that we ourselves define as "uncontrollable" and even as seeing someone who manage to control this "uncontrollable" is something worth seeing and entertaining

when we see a tamer spanking a lion ........it's entertaining

when we see a lion eating a tamer.............it's horrifying

There are absolutely NO benefits from having animals in a circus. Animals that perform in circuses live in misery, pain and torture for the rest of their lives, being beaten with metal rods, electric rods, spiky whips, and terrible things like that, unless somebody does something about it. Put yourself in their paws... and ask yourself if you would like to have your natural instincts overridden by isolation, starvation and physical abuse for the purpose of entertainment of a self-alleged higher species. Be careful how you answer this, as it may happen to you in the verynear future. Study up on the "Columbian Exchange" for a sobering variety of reference points. You may find this difficult to believe, but animals are people, too!
