There are vehicles that use the road for transporting materials that are sometimes fragile and delicate. It is of chef importance for the roads to be as smooth as possible to ensure smooth travels for the trucks. In addition, most trucks have a rougher suspension base/ springs when compared to regular cars. Trucks will ride somewhat bumpy even on a smooth road never mind a rough and bumpy one.

Why was it easier to haul large loads by canals then roads?

Hauling large loads by canals was easier than by roads primarily due to the reduced friction and resistance in water compared to land. Canals allowed for the transportation of goods using boats, which could carry heavier loads with less effort, aided by the buoyancy of water. Additionally, canals typically provided a more direct and smooth route than often uneven and poorly maintained roads, further enhancing efficiency and lowering transport costs.

Always refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific handling instructions.

Why are smooth tires bad for driving on wet roads?

Smooth tires are bad for driving on wet roads because they have less traction and grip on the slippery surface, increasing the risk of skidding and losing control of the vehicle. The lack of tread patterns on smooth tires also makes it harder for water to be dispersed, leading to a higher chance of hydroplaning.
