The question isn't why learn about black holes but why. The thing is it's just fascinating to learn about them. I mean it can rip anything apart even basic atoms. Now that's a powerful force. I mean some people always wondered what happened to stars. It just so happens that if their big enough they will actually implode then explode in some of the greatest explosions in the universe. Now do you under stand why people like them so much?

Are black holes dangerous to people?

Black holes could be dangerous to people if people were close to a black hole, but there are no black holes near the planet Earth (as far as we know) and the closest one is probably in the center of the Milky Way galaxy, which is about 80,000 light years from Earth, which is a safe distance.
