Why should students stay seated in class the entire class time?

Pro: Students should stay seated in their class at all times so that there is peace in the classroom. The students need to stay in their seats so that the other students and the teacher(s) can concentrate on their work.
Con: Students need some excercise while in a classroom. It is a proven fact that kids and teenagers behave better when they have stretched their legs out a bit. Also, less rule breaking ocurres when students have run around for a while and are tired.

∙ 13y agoThe simple answer is - you're there for a purpose - to LEARN ! While in school you are supposed to absorb the lessons your teachers are giving - to make you capable of contributing to society in a positive manner ! Too many kids leave school with no qualifications, or plans to better themselves because they see it as 'cool' to disrupt the class, and ignore what's being taught !
The alternative - is sitting in the gutter with a tin-cup asking "can you spare some change" !
