Because we have to appreciate those who fought for us and give thanks to those who serve in the Millitary.
Because it is people like me that served in both South and North Viet Nam under fire so you could sleep easy at night knowing the Military was on guard duty for you throughout the night !!

Veterans Day
The answer is no because we should not disrespect our soldiers.
Veterans Day and Memorial Day are the two in the US. July 4th is also used to recognize them.
Memorial Day is in May. Veterans Day is in November.
No, but they have veterans day and memorial day to honor all the troops.
Yes! The Department of Veterans' Affairs began a campaign in 2006 to encourage all veterans to wear their medals on Memorial Day, the 4th of July and Veterans' Day.
There are any number of ways to honor our veterans. You can do it simply by placing a flag outside your home on national holidays like the 4th of July, Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc. But you can also do it in a more personal way by visiting any of the many memorials to veterans around the country. Obviously, Washington, DC, has a large number of memorials honoring veterans, like the new WWll Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, and one of the more famous, the Vietnam Memorial, also known as "The Wall." Finally, I personally think the best way to honor a veteran is to walk up to him or her and simply say, "Thank you for your service to our country." (and thanks for asking the question...)
Of course there should be a Veterans' Day! Why should we not honor the men and women who helped to keep this country safe, suffering greatly in the process?
Memorial Day is a holiday that people celabrate veterans that has passed away or even ones that are still with us.Some people might go to a veterans grave and put a flag on it to honor them.
by celebrating thier day
