It's rays never converge at a single point like a concave mirror, and therefore it has no focal point The mirror equation is 1/f=1/di + 1/do, where f is the focal point, di is the distance of the image from the mirror, and do is the distance of the reflected object from the mirror. A compound microscope can either have a light bulb or a mirror. If yours has a light bulb, turn it on to view your slide. You can't use the light in your room or lab to view your slide, because you will block all that light when you use the microscope. If your microscope has a mirror then you might need a another light source to point at the mirror to view your slide.

The object should be necessarily be placed between the focal point of the concave mirror and the pole of the mirror to produce a larger image(not larger object) behind the concave mirror.
believe it or not microscopes aren't that hard to use. there's a nob that you use to get in focus. the farther away you are from the specimen the bigger it will look. the point of a microscope is that your lens (the glass thing at the bottom) as far away as possible with out making it blurry. depending on what microscope your using there will be a mirror or a light. If your using a mirror you try to tilt it so it will get as much light as possible. if you are using one with lights try different combinations in till you get the best view.
