Why would people want to visit Australia?

The bird life is also amazing, with bright colors being the order of the day, and the emu and kookaburra being readily seen close to major cities. Kangaroos too can be seen wild within less than an hour of most major capitals.

It has thousands of kilometres of brilliant, sandy beaches with colourful marine life. There are lush, dense rainforests; eucalyptus bushland which is home to so many unique marsupials; wide open spaces of the vast outback; and outdoor adventures and sports to suit all types of people, from water sports all-year-round to snow sports in the high country in winter. There are luxurious trains which carry passengers across the entire continent, west to east and south to north, giving a first hand view of the marvellous desert and semi-arid countryside that is so unique to Australia.

Australia is safer than most other countries for travelling in. The water is good quality and the food is unlikely to cause problems, while vaccinations are not needed to enter Australia.

Everyone speaks English, or is at least generally understandable. When folks in North America are experiencing a cold winter, it is summer in Australia. They have a low crime rate and they are very nice to tourists. OK, they are wonderful to tourists. Things are similar enough to America that Americans are comfortable and different enough to make it feel like a fun exotic vacation. There are lots of animals not found anywhere else. Australia is surrounded by a reef that makes the diving and swimming fun.
