you can only play it on pc
Because its your disc. The PlayStation loads the game and the disc makes noise.
Depends where your game is from. It is a rare Playstation game that amazon pays $25 for a trade in on and if you copy was burnt it is unlikely to work

a game disc
Mine activated when I downloaded them while the game disc was in the PS3. You could put in your game disc and go to your downloads at the Playstation store and see if that works for you

You do not the Game much be developed for the PS2 by the developers and formatted for the PS2

The Xbox 360 and Windows (PC) copies of Dead Space 2 have two discs. This is because the media (DVD-9) the game's content is burnt onto cannot fit all the data on one disc. Therefore those copies of the game are burnt onto two disc. The first and second disc both contain the game, and ONLY the game. The PlayStation 3 copy of Dead Space 2 is burnt onto a Blu-Ray disc and therefore only needs ONE disc for all the data (No install required). Note: The PS3 copy of Dead Space contains the full game PLUS the full Dead Space: Extraction in High-Definition with PlayStation Move support. A digital copy of Dead Space 2 requires NO disc, but needs a large amount of hard drive space.
No you can download a game from the PlayStation store, but the game disc must be inserted into the console each time you want to play.
Check the back of a disc there might be a scratch on it. If not it might just be your PlayStation is having trouble reading the disc. Finally maybe your PlayStation is having problems.
