the sound waves are the matter wave, which always require a medium to travel. Because matter waves travel due to vibration in matter or energy transformation via consecutive particles from the source to the destination. Since in vacuum there is no medium via waves as energy can transfer ,so sound can not travel in vacuum.

In what media do sounds move fastest?

vacuum answer 2 Sound is a vibration of molecules, and thus cannot travel in a vacuum, where there are no molecules.

What has to happen to make sounds travel?

Atoms transfer sound energy through vibrations. If there are no atoms, such as in a vacuum, sounds cannot be transmitted.

What can sounds not travel through?

Since sound is a mechanical wave (it needs a substance to travel through) it cannot travel through a vacuum.

Where can sounds not travel?

Sound cannot travel in a vacuum. Sound is mechanical energy, and it travels by the transfer of mechanical energy through the medium through which it is traveling. If there is nothing to transfer the mechanical energy, like there is nothing in a vacuum, sound cannot travel there.

What is the one thing that cannot travel through a vacuum?

i think voice cannot travel through vacuum.

Light can travel through a vacuum as is evidenced when you see the sun or the moon. Can sound travel through a vacuum also?

No, sounds cannot travel through a vacuum. This is because sound requires a medium to travel through because it requires the vibration of particles to travel and there need to be particles to vibrate for it to travel through.

Sound cannot travel in?

A vacuum.

Is vacuum the sound that travels best?

No: worst. Sound cannot travel though a vacuum.

Why sounds cannot reach to the earth from sun?

Sounds cannot reach the Earth from the Sun because sound requires a medium, such as air or water, to travel through. In the vacuum of space, there is no air or other material for sound waves to propagate. The Sun primarily emits electromagnetic radiation, such as light and heat, which can travel through the vacuum of space, but sound waves are not capable of doing so. Thus, while we can perceive light from the Sun, we cannot hear any sounds it might produce.

Can ultra sonic travel through vacuum?

No, ultrasound cannot travel through a vacuum because it requires a medium, such as air or water, to propagate. In a vacuum, there are no particles for the sound wave to travel through, so it cannot propagate.

Can compressional waves travel through a vacuum?

No, compressional waves require a medium to travel through, so they cannot travel through a vacuum where there is no matter. Sound waves, which are compressional waves, cannot propagate through a vacuum.

Can sound travle to space?

Space is a vacuum. Sound cannot travel in vacuum
