MORE THEN LIKELY IT IS THE SPEED SENSOR ON THE TRANS I HAD A SIMILER PROB ON MY TRUCK
Speedometer quit working, car wont shiftI drove a 1993 Ford Taurus. It had transmission controlled shifting. In my situation, there was a very small $5.00 piece(plastic, of course) inside the tranny that controlled the shifting which needed to be replaced. I actually had it replaced at the dealer and cost me around $160.00. Sorry I couldn't help more but hope this gives you a direction, William
The speed sensor needs replaced. It is on the trans.
If both the speedometer and odometer stopped working it is probably the speed sensor in the transmission gone bad. If only the speedometer quit you may have to replace the dash cluster with a reconditioned unit.
it usually is the gear in the transmission Could be the vehicle speed sensor.
you dont have the speedodmeter cable set in the transmission right take it back out and as u set it in place turn it till it seats flush on the transmission
Output speed sensor is bad. Changed already
check the vss located on the tailshaft of the transmission for the speedometer issue the odometer is figured out based on the speedometer also so it will quit as well. this sounds like either the sensor is bad or a short in the wire from it The cord for the speedometer came undone from the transmission or the gauge cluster is bad
the transmission is no good needs to be replaced or rebuilt take it to your local transmission repair shop To be more specific it could be low on oil or the clutches inside are worn out
What's a trasmission?? Transmission's have more then one gear, most these days have 1-2-3-D with Over Drive. So it will not "quit shifting" just because it gets warm. Hope This Helps.
1998 Nissan Pathfinder the speedometer and heat gauge quit workin?
its on a 93 GMC Sierra Pick up it was working fine and then just one day it just quit
possibly a bad/broken speed sensor located on the transmission
