Why is the Bible a special book for Christians?

The scriptures of any religion are special or sacred for followers of that religion. The Bible is special to Christians as the scripture of Christianity. Some Christians also believe that the Bible was inspired by God and is even the actual word of God.

Traditionally, both Catholics and Protestant Christians believe that the Bible is God-breathed, meaning that God spoke his word to Man, and Man recorded it in scripture. What makes this so special is that the Bible then becomes the Church's passport to the wisdom, knowledge, and righteousness of God.

It is important to note that while Christians believe the whole Bible is good for teaching, rebuking and study, that man is fallible. And in his fallibility has misinterpreted the scriptures on many occasion. As an example, the Holy crusades were the result of a misinterpretation of Scripture.

Christians will weigh Scripture against historical context and traditions to determine what was intended to be conveyed by the origional scribes of the Word. This is one of the reasons why there are so many different versions of the Bible.

The most Sacred in all we can consider. The Bible came from our Holy Almighty God so we must consider it Sacred. We can not fathom it actually, the Bible mysteries are infinite.

The reason why it is wise to do as the Bible says is because man cannot even direct his own steps. (Jeremiah 10:23) We were made to worship god, and, as stated at 2 Timothy 3:16, 17 quoted above, the Bible is the only book inspired by God.
