I do not believe that authorship of the Gospels is an important issue for Christians today. Most Christians have faith and do not question or try to justify that faith. For some Christians, the truth of the Gospels is based on the assumption that they were written by eyewitnesses or close associates of eyewitnesses. It is also based, to some extent, on the assumption that the Gospels are not dependent on each other, thus providing a level of mutual verification. For these Christians it may be an important issue to realise that the Gospels were actually written much later than generally assumed and that the authors were neither eyewitnesses nor close associates of eyewitnesses. It may also be important for them that the Gospels of Matthew, Luke and John are based, directly or indirectly, on the earliest Gospel, Mark.
Many Christians have faith that the Gospels are true even though they were written by human authors instead of by God. Often, the events in different Gospels can be compared to each other to find the validity in them.
There is no irrefutable evidence that the writers of the Gospels are historically accurate and did not make alterations to suit their own belief. However, the Christian Bible is regarded by most Christians to be truth.
A Collation of Four Important Manuscripts of the Gospels was created in 1877.
Saint Matthew is important in Christianity as one of the Twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus. He is traditionally credited with writing the Gospel of Matthew, one of the four canonical gospels in the New Testament. His writings provide an important source of information about the life and teachings of Jesus.
EXTREMELY important
The gospels communicated values and beliefs through the narrative. Much of what the gospel teaches are the direct words of Jesus himself and the teaching he presented.
I think Christians don't believe this.Hospices are important to all people not so important to Christians.
A:Most Christians believe that the entire Bible is true, including Mark's Gospel. Since Mark is now known to have been the earliest New Testament gospel and that the other gospels were substantially based on Mark, either directly (Matthew and Luke) or indirectly (John), to disagree with Mark's Gospel on important issues would probably be to disagree with the gospels as a whole, which few Christians would do. Of course, there are minor errors in Mark that the subsequent evangelists recognised and corrected, but these are not substantive.

The four canonical Gospels are recognized by Christians as being those written by Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The Gospels take their names from their assumed authors and comprise the first part of the New Testament compilation. The four Gospels — Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John — each present the life and/or ministry of Jesus from the author's point of view.
