Incident, Incident, Incident, INCIDENT. If the question is in regard to Civil Rights there was not a single incident but no less then 40 years and closer to 80 of consistent violent oppression, bigotry and discrimination that led to the peaceful marches seeking redress from the State Government. The media had told the story but until the American people saw they were not true believers. Until they saw on that magical box called TV the misuse of government power with their own eyes, then they were true believers. Seeing it led rapidly to basic and essential changes in US Domestic Policy. Things are surely better today but the struggle for a color blind society will continue for many more years.
