A disciple is one who has been taught, however more is involved. They must put into action what they have learned. Just as Jesus taught his disciples, he gives them the commission to make more disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:19) This is important because John 17:3 tells us coming to know about God and Jesus can mean life everlasting for us. This is not possible if you are not a disciple of Christ.
