Hi there

When any intermediary voltage is being synthesised, there is a current path through one or more of the Flying Capacitors, which will cause charging or discharging depending on the overall state of the switches and the load current polarity.

Therefore the inverter control must ensure that the FC voltages are balanced through the proper selection of the switching state combinations.

Maintaining the correct voltage across the FC is the main challenge in ensuring proper operation of the inverter.

What is the working voltages for a air spaced variable capacitor?

A resistor and a capacitor are connected in parallel across a 120 v dc source determine the voltages across the resistor and the capacitor?

Since they're connected in parallel directly across the source, the voltages across both componentsare equal, and are equal to the source, i.e. 120 v DC.

What is the cause of fluctuation in amps and pf in a 6000hp syncrhonous motor?

When the line voltages of a polyphase motor induction motor are not equal, unbalanced currents in the stator windings will result. A small percentage voltage unbalance will result in a much larger percentage current unbalance. Consequently, the temperature rise of the motor operating at a particular load and percentage voltage unbalance will be greater than the motor operating under the same conditions with balanced voltages. NEMA Standards MG 1-1998, 12.46 recommends against operating a motor with a voltage unbalance greater than 1%. This will increase operating temperature, vibration, nuisance trips and failures.

Why you are using the capacitor voltage transformer in Sub station?

To Step down high voltages we require CVT,because it will step down the volatge by uisng capacitor in its circuit.

Why capacitor oppose change in voltage and allows current to flow?

Because that is what a capacitor does, resist a change in voltage. It holds a certain amount of energy per charge (voltage), and to change that voltage requires current proportionally to the capacitance.

Can i use a 12 volt inverter battery with a 120 volt inverter?

That would probably depend what you mean with "use with"; for example, connecting two such similar objects, but with different voltages, in parallel doesn't seem safe to me.

Why coupling capacitor is used inelectronics circuits?

To Block DC voltages and couple AC signals through to the next circuit.

When might it be necessary to use a 2 µF polyester capacitor rather than a 2 µF electrolytic capacitor?

when high voltages are present because the voltage rating of polyester (polyethylene terephthalate) capacitor is high as well as electrolytic capacitor will destroy if the voltage increases from nominal voltage and cause short circuit conditions.

What is capacitor smoothing?

A Smoothing Capacitor is a capacitor which helps to smooth out fluctuations that may exist on a power supply line.

Can a 400 Volt inverter be run on 460 volts?

The range of working voltages for a piece of equipment should be marked on the cover. If it says 400-460 v or a wider range, the answer is yes. Otherwise the answer is no.

Is the capacitor used in the ac system to reduce line voltage?

Usually capacitors in an AC system are there to improve the power factor. Transformers are used to increase or decrease line voltages.
