gas is more soluble in cold water. In hot water, the molecules are farther apart, leaving room for gas to escape. That's why it's LESS soluble, and why hot water makes clearer ice cubes. Cold water molecules are close together, trapping in the gas and dissolving it. We keep pop in the freezer so the carbonation will last longer.
One theory is that each gas molecule must compete with water-vapor molecules,
and the number of vapor molecules increases as the temp rises ...
until at the boiling point it becomes 100% vapor.
Because in hot water gases are released and the solubility decrease.
Because in hot water gases are released and the solubility decrease.
Gases dissolve better is cold water
The particles move faster when heated.
Hot temperature
Cold
To clarify a point - a gas is more soluble in cold water than in hot water. I can only surmise that cold water is used in the process of gas collection by downward displacement of water due to the lower vapor pressure of water at the lower temperature - compared to normal room temperature. This would have the effect of collecting drier gas in the collecting cylinder.
chlorophyll is more soluble than xanthophyll
hot water contains more energy than cold water. cold water causes the water molegules to vibrate more.
Warm water is NOT a disinfectant. It makes grease and oil more soluble in water and also is a little bit more comfortable to wash with.
If you have the same volume of both then there are in cold water more molecules.
Carbon monoxide is more soluble in cold water compared to hot water. This is because gases tend to dissolve better in colder temperatures.
cold water
Ozone is more soluble in colder water compared to hot water. This is because colder water can hold more dissolved gases than hot water due to higher solubility at lower temperatures.
Cold water can hold more oxygen than hot water. This is because gases are more soluble in colder temperatures than in warmer temperatures. As the temperature of water increases, its ability to hold dissolved gases, including oxygen, decreases.
Cold water generally has more dissolved gases than hot water. This is because gases are more soluble in colder temperatures compared to warmer temperatures. When water is heated, its capacity to hold dissolved gases decreases.
NaCl is soluble in cold water but more readily soluble in hot water
A. CO2 B. NaCl C. NaNO3 D. KBr The answer is A. CO2, this would be colder than the rest... :) UR WELCOME
Starch is more soluble in hot water compared to cold water. When water is heated, the starch molecules have more kinetic energy, allowing them to break down and mix more easily with the water.
Hot.
hot water
Sucrose is more soluble in hot water due to the increase in molecular motion of the solute and solvent.
Like most (but not all !) salts they are more soluble in hot than in cold water.
