Because he has a bow
The bow and lyre are the symbols of the Olympian god Apollo. Laurel is also a symbol of Apollo.
Apollo
The Greeks associated the lyre with Apollo. Hermes actually created it, but after he stole Apollo's cattle and was arguing with him, Hermes started to play the lyre. Apollo was so entranced that he traded the cattle for the lyre.

Some of Apollo's sacred symbols include the lyre, the bow and arrow, the laurel wreath, the sun chariot, and the tripods. These symbols represent various aspects of Apollo's domains, such as music, archery, poetry, the sun, and prophecy.
One of the symbols are the lyre. Apollo was especially known as the god of music. He is often depicted carrying a lyre, the beloved Greek musical instrument with seven strings. The lyre was also that important because it was used to accompany poetry recitations. Hermes, who invented this musical instrument, gave the lyre to Apollo. Apollo became a master in playing the lyre and he also taught mortals how to play it. The others are the crow, the dolphin and the laurel tree.
