Why the moon can rise and sete at ant time of day?

The moon travels around the Earth every 27.3 days. Sometimes it's on the same side

as the sun is, sometimes it's on the opposite side from the sun, and sometimes it's on

a side that's halfway in between.

If you stand facing the sun, sometimes the moon is in the same direction, sometimes

the moon is directly behind you, and sometimes it's to your right or to your left. You

never know how much you have to turn from pointing at the sun to point at the moon.

However much you have to turn from pointing at the sun to point at the moon

on that particular day, that's how much the Earth has to turn between sunrise

and moonrise.
