Most narcissists are insecure and place enormous internal emphasis on how others perceive them. They project what they think about themselves on you. They want to cause you to leave them because the truth is they use you for sometime and then get bored and would rather put the blame on you for leaving them.

So, if some one decides to put their life on hold for a narcissist i suggest to go get professional help as to why you would do such a thing. Plus, I think you would give as your life will change.
