This is a very BIG question. Scientists are actually working on this.

In physics there are currently two realms; big and small.

There exist a set of equations and principles that we have found that are valid for large things. Ex. How a Baseball moves when thrown, how planets revolve around the sun, How dust moves in a breeze.

Then there are another set of equations that we have found that describe things on a very small scale.

Ex. Measuring positions of electrons around a nucleus, describing the hydrogen atom.

But unfortunately these equations are not compatible. This just means that there is something that we don't know yet. But the tools that we have so far work very well. Also, this is where string theory (M-theory) come in. Mathematicians and physicists are working on a new set of equations that will describe everything no matter the scale.

Is quantum mechanics valid only for very small particles like atoms only?

Quantum Mechanics is valid for nearly everything (So far) it's just that the effects of it are only seen in microscopic scales like individual particles.

What is the significance of the psi star function in quantum mechanics?

The psi star function in quantum mechanics is significant because it represents the complex conjugate of the wave function, allowing us to calculate probabilities and observables in quantum systems. It helps us understand the behavior of particles at the quantum level and is essential for making predictions in quantum mechanics.

Is it true that local realism is false?

Yes, it is generally accepted in the field of quantum mechanics that local realism is not a valid explanation for the behavior of particles at the quantum level.

How does the concept of dagger quantum mechanics contribute to our understanding of the behavior of particles at the quantum level?

Dagger quantum mechanics, also known as adjoint quantum mechanics, is a mathematical framework that helps us understand the behavior of particles at the quantum level by providing a way to describe the complex interactions and transformations that occur. It allows us to analyze the properties of quantum systems and make predictions about their behavior with greater accuracy and efficiency.

How does the concept of imaginary time evolution contribute to our understanding of quantum mechanics?

The concept of imaginary time evolution in quantum mechanics helps us understand the behavior of particles at very small scales. It allows us to mathematically describe how particles move and interact in a way that is consistent with the principles of quantum mechanics. This concept helps us make predictions about the behavior of particles in complex systems and provides a framework for understanding the underlying principles of quantum mechanics.
