The Ten Commandments were really not given to the Hebrews because they were practiced even at Eden. After the creation, God rested on the seventh-day Sabbath. This Jesus taught when He was on Earth. The great commission is to baptize and make disciples, teaching them to observe all things in which He has taught us. The commandments reveal the character of God, points out or sin, that we may truly know and feel the great need of a Savior.
