In general, using integrated circuits (ICs) decreases the amount of discrete electrical components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes, transistors, etc.) needed, because IC's are a combination of multiple electrical components, put together in such a way as to provide a specific function. If an IC is not used for this function, all the components inside the IC would need t be discrete parts.
Resistors and capacitors inherently take up a lot of space in fabrication. Also, resistors in particular are wasteful when it comes to creating unnecessary heat. If a transistor can be used for the same function, it will be significantly smaller in an IC, and most likely will use less energy, minimizing heat dissipation concerns.
They do not resist it.
Capacitors store charge. There are many applications for their use. There is no set amount of capacitors in a circuit since it is application dependent.

Yes.
There are many different countertop fabrications that Corian offers. You can cusomize your choices and pick exactly what your looking for. You can use this site to help you decide. http://www.scan-top.com/corian.html
the use of swamping resisters in amplifier is in order to protect the amplifier from high temperatures
as long as there is muscle in the body than atrophy can be minimized rather than arrested; as in not able to use...
resisters actually slow down the amount of volts and or amps going thru them.If you have say 12 volts and you want only 6 volts you use a formula to determine the size opf resisters you need to accomplish this.
The type of dielectric most often used in variable capacitors is air. Also, trimmer capacitors often use mica.
Fire alarm system may be having some electronic devices and cards, in which some capacitors are used. Capacitors are part of any electronic cards.
