RBC's do not have a nucleus to make them more efficient at carrying oxygen and to reduce their size so they can squeeze through small blood vessels and capilaries more effectively.

Platelets are essentially cell fragments. They are not cells themselves. They help in the formation of blood clots and are involved in other important hemostatic processes
