Why tv is better than reading books?
It is, tv are much better than book as there are more variatives to choose from while a book has only limited source of information. The television will be much more convenient than reading books and newspapers, because you just have to switch on the tv to have a wide things to learn, experience and even see, while you have to wait for books or newspapers to be published. And therefore,tv is definitely much more better than reading.
depends on you and your views to what you think on watching TV and reading books are. Personally, i find some things on the TV better than they would be in books, but that's because you cant really get stuff on the TV from books, if you get what I'm saying.
well watching TV makes u lazy SO that is bad well personally i think reading books are better than watching TV and books are educational
1. reading makes you smarter 2. tv makes you fat 3.its bad for your eyes
Reading helps you to become a better speller (so you won't misspell "television" and "better" and "than"). It also challenges your mind, whereas all the facts are given to you when watching TV. You can also read books to expand your vocabulary and better your reading and comprehension skills for when you get a job that requires reading and fulfilling tasks that are written for you. I hope that helps.
I would argue against that, in my opinion reading books far outweighs watching television. Reading books stimulates your imagination more, and you learn a lot more. The content of the book and the TV program also influence the answer. The TV program can be a College level course and the book does not have to have any benefit. For that matter the goal that is desired is also important. If what you are seeking is… Read More
No,books are much more emersive and many times, more interesting than TV. Also, you can hurt your eyes by watching TV. Did you know that every hour of TV you watch, shortens your life by 2 minutes? Also, reading can increase your vocabuluary, imagination, and sometimes knowlege too!
You don't get smarter by reading books -- you become better informed/educated. You can become better informed by going to school, reading informative magazines/periodicals (this does not include fluff magazines like People, Hollywood Insider, TV Guide, etc), going to museums.
Yes books are better than television because books are the guides of success for young ones to the future and the books have so many knowledge.
Books are better to read then watching the movie first because if you are reading the book you can imagine the place it's at and or you can visualize what the characters look like. On television you have what the characters look like and what the place looks like.it is all there for you when watching a movie, but when you are reading a book it exercises your brain and puts it to work.SO READ… Read More

Television is better than books because a 102 wide print book is not a amazing as a 30 inch HD t.v.
To be honest, I wonder why you would say this! I like books better then TV, well sometimes I have to admit. I get a bit lazy and watch TV instead. Maybe that's why some people like TV better then books. But I think books have more detail, so its better!
Because books don't tell you the weather that is coming your way. If you have a tornado watch going on in where you live, how would you know? Would reading a regular paper book tell you a tornado's coming for you?
It has been shown that there is more activity in the brain when reading than when watching television. However, everyone is entertained in different ways; if you are asking which is better entertainment-wise, then it depends on which activity is more pleasurable to you. As far as learning goes, books might be your preferred medium.
Yes, of course!
It all depends on what you watch on television or what you read.
Books are far better than tv as with a book you are using your imagination to visualize the scene, but with tv it is already there so your brain doesn't visualize the image.
Studies have shown that T.V is more stimulating than books.
Some people think that books are better than TV for a variety of reasons. A few might be that it is better for your eyes, it allows you to use your mind more, by imagining the characters and their actions, and you can carry books around! (Although you can carry around an iPod or something similar with TV shows on it.)
While the TV bombards you with a sensorial experience, showing facts as they really were (or as imagined / mentally constructed by the director), books offer a conceptual description of beings and their universe. While reading we "process" the written information, so that it becomes intelligible, and so that we can relate to the characters and situations they experience. Thus, we are forced, or "invited", to perform a much more complex reasoning and mental constructions… Read More
Books are so much better because the author describes the emotions of the character a lot more and it can also give you more of a back story. you can also choose when you want to carry on reading and not have to be in front of a television.
In general, reading books is much more intellectually stimulating than watching TV. For example, when you watch TV, the program is basically spoon feeding you information in visual and sound effects. When you read a book, you yourself are reading the words (and sometimes expanding your own vocabulary) and creating the mental images yourself. Now that I noticed that this question is about Twilight, I will say that reading the books does the plotline, story… Read More
Yes. Television is good for advertising. For everything else, print is better.
Yes because there are history channels
Perhaps a better question would be whether television is better than a book. The two are very different ways of delivering information to us. An avid book reader will tell you that a good novel can take you to places in your imagination that television or movies can never achieve. Books can be read at any pace, they'll be waiting whenever you get back to them and if it's a text book, you can read… Read More
Books leave more room for imagination on the part of the reader.
well yes because tom Robinson is awesome
Zanbabe said: Well, I would think because you get more story. Television can only offer tiny hour or half-hour segments of story, and usually way less character development than you can get through print. Plus, reading helps build your vocabulary and reading comprehension level... and those things are needed in life. I like watching television too. There are some good shows every now and then. I really like Chuck and Pushing Daisies. But reading overs… Read More
No question, books.
The advantages of using television for education are the TVs keep students' attention better than books, and it is more fun than books. The disadvantages are that the students cannot interact with a TV, they do not know where the information came from, and they cannot always re-watch shows for missed information.
Simplistically, Watching television is a reactive form of being entertained. Reading books is a proactive function plus expands the readers literary skills. and over 900,000 people watch over 4 and a half hours of television a day most people under age of 2 years old should not watch any type of television cause it may cause a disfunction in there brain and may cause them to have mental disfunction
Reading has lost its appeal to many people for several reasons. To read, you have to think more, and watching television is more of a passive activity. Also, many TV programs have flashy bright colors and action, so it seems more exciting to some people. But it is actually less healthy for your brain than reading.
Watch English television programs - especially cartoons and children's programs for simple English. Reading children's books can help you learn simple English as well.
If I were to be deprived of TV, mobile phones, and the internet, I would spend more time reading books. Actual paper books, not e-books.
You can solve the problem of watching TV easily by reading books. Most popular television shows and movies were based off of books. Also, why don't you try exercising?
i think they will prefer watching TV than reading .because reading is words and pictures .
People still read. There are still books being written and published. Lots of people earn their a living by writing and selling publication. There is now more competition for books than there used to be. Now we have movies, television, the Internet, and ways to stream movies to your TV set.
To Much when they should be doing homework and reading books
By watching no TV and reading science, geography and physics books
Well, of course, with reading you can visualize the scenes, the plot, the characters, you can twist it to fit both the description in the book and what you want it to be. You can also make up the voices for characters which can be fun. However, with watching television all you can imagine and see is what is on the screen.
Yes, if you enjoy a good story and have a good imagination. Because you can picture the things in a book with your own minds eye. Yeah I think books are better because you can bring them anywhere. Also you can write your own book.
The patient of typhoid do not like to turn in the bed. After the fever drops the patient can do some light activities like watching the TV or reading the books. Children run out doors, once they feel better.
The question should be why are books better than movies? Some people think books are better than films because they have every part of a movie and more, and, you can create your own characters and backgrounds. You can also take a book anywhere. Whereas some people prefer films because it uses less time, you can sit in front of the tv with some popcorn and everything is displayed for you. Hope this helps! :D
reading books or chatting with friends
well i think that the books every details in the story but juste watch a movie if you are lazy to read a whole book , but i think you get to try reading book because you geta lot of information <marwakarra
Most mature people will consider books to be better for children than television although the real answer cannot be that simple. Reading books will improve reading, writing and creative skills for most children. A novel will tend to expand a child's imagination, perhaps learn about a different way of life or culture. Reading non fiction books should expand a child's knowledge. However, there is a great deal of printed material that is nowhere near as… Read More
I like TV because books are boring and you don't read for long and learn as much. TV is not boring, you watch it for longer and learn more!
TV has visual pictures. The directors decide what the characters looks like. In books, you get to choose what the characters look like. You get to release your mind, so that your imagination can run free and wild like it's supposed to. Also TV makes you get heart problems and other health issues
In terms of education value yes.
