You probably have a buffer solution and don't realize it
Cantaloupes have a pH of about 6.5, which makes them acidic.
pH = 0 to pH = 6 is the acidic range. pH - 0 is the most acidic.
An ACIDIC Sol'n has a pH < 7. pH = 1 is strongly acidic (H2SO4/HCl/HNO3) pH = 4 mildly acidic (CH3COOH) pH = 6 weakly acidic. (H2CO3 as naturak rain water; NOT acidic rain).
The pH scale goes from 0 - 14, with 7 being neutral; the lower the number, the more acidic the solution.
1-7, 7 being neutral, so maybe you would consider it 1 - 6.9
Onion juice is slightly acidic with a pH range of 5.3 to 5.85.
A pH value below 7 indicates that a solution is acidic. The lower the pH value, the more acidic the solution is. Typically, acidic solutions have a pH between 0 and 6.9.
pepsin is activated from pepsinogen in stomach. the pH range for its optimal ativity is at acidic pH between 1.5 to 2. It is also stable upto pH8 and can be inactivated at basic pH from 8.5,
Acidic solutions have a pH under 7.
A vegetable with a pH of 5.3 would be slightly acidic. It falls within the range of mildly acidic substances, which typically have a pH between 4 to 6.
The pH rating of a potato ranges from 5.0 - 5.2 pH. This means a potato, despite neutral in taste is acidic.
Havarti cheese is slightly acidic. It has a pH between 4.5 and 6.5, which falls in the acidic range.
