If you do not vent a natural gas water heater, anytime of the year, CO and CO2 will build up in your home. Anytime you are burning anything indoors you will need to vent the product. The only exception are 'ventless' heaters/fireplaces/ect. If you use a ventless system make sure you spend money on a CO and CO2 monitor. (Not a bad idea anyway when burning anything indoors.)
I think that is what you are asking?
No, an electric water heater does not require a vent for proper operation.
Depends on what type of vent system water heater has.
a direct vent water heater is more fuel efficient (cost's less to operate). aside from that there isn't much difference, aside from not needing a double wall flue through the roof on a standard gas water heater.
The purpose of a water heater vent cap is to safely exhaust combustion gases from the water heater to the outside. It helps prevent the buildup of harmful gases like carbon monoxide inside the home. By ensuring proper ventilation, the vent cap contributes to the efficient and safe operation of the water heater system.
A geyser is a natural vent that discharges steam or water from Earth.

The recommended installation height for a vent pipe for a tankless water heater is typically between 12 to 18 inches above the unit.
A tankless water heater vent kit typically includes components such as vent pipes, elbows, wall thimbles, termination caps, and necessary hardware for installation. These components are essential for safely venting the exhaust gases produced by the tankless water heater to the outside of the building.
