The sun is directly overhead between the Tropic of Cancer (June) and the Tropic of Capricorn (December) when it's rays are most intense. They are least intense at the South Pole (June) and North Pole (December).

The vertical rays appear to move from the Tropic of Capricorn, across the Equator, to the Tropic of Cancer.
There is no city in India that receives vertical rays of the sun. All receive slanting Actually there is no place on the earth that receives vertical rays of the sun. Some receive horizontal, some receive slanting and some receive very slanting.
It is because the vertical rays covers the larger surface area where as the slanting rays does not.
UV ray is more intense. IR rays are less.
They contain more solar energy!
