The authorship of 2 Peter has been questioned more than any other book in the New Testament. The main reasons were:
Peter argued with Jesus. Moses questioned his ability to be a leader as God wanted him to be.
The last time the name "Simon Peter" appears in the KJV bible is 2 Peter 1:1.
I Peter 2:9.
Although Second Peter was one of the books that there questions about, it was accepted by the entire Church by 350 A.D. and was included in St. Jerome's translation of the entire Bible. It was definitely listed in the Council of Rome, and Pope Damascus list of the Canon near the end of that century. In the East there were some doubts of the canonicity of 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, Jude, and the Apocalypse; but none of these were ever questioned by the Church, and they were all reaffirmed infallibly by the Council of Trent.
Peter, in any version of the Bible, was a leading apostle and disciple of Jesus. He led the early Christians in Jerusalem and authored the New Testament books of 1 and 2 Peter.
It is not in the Bible but rather the traditions of men. Some point to Origen in the 3rd Century as the 'Church Father' who began this story.
As a starting point you could refer to 2 Peter 1:21.
About 40 writers were used to record the Bible. (2 Peter 1:20, 21)
I believe that there is only one Peter in the Bible, the Apostle Peter.
2 peter chapter2 verse 4.
Why was Peter's reading from the bible important
In the Bible both Peter and Andrew were real brothers.
