The Jewish leaders in Jesus' day did not like Him. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God (throughout the gospel of John). The leaders did not like this and other things that Jesus told them and, "The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might kill Him (Luke 22:2).
Because the Jews were under Roman rule they were not allowed to kill or execute people, only the Roman government could do this, and so the Jew's took Jesus to Pilate and Pilate after some persuasion had Jesus crucified on the cross (Matthew 27:15-26; Mark 15: 6-15; Luke 23:19; John 18:39-19:19).
Crucifixion on a cross was the Roman way of execution in that day.
he died because he told everyone that he was god the one who did miracles
He was Crucified, yes, but rose again in three days to save mankind from eternal death.
He was a threat to the Romans because people followed him and worshiped him instead of the leaders. People did not believe he was the son of God, so he was betrayed.
Jesus. He was cruicified.
No because they did that because Jesus said that he was the Son of GOD which he is and I believe he came for one reason and one reason only which was to seek and to save those which was lost
1) Jesus and Joseph are both in the Bible. 2)The Jews believe Jesus is just a great prophet like Joseph, although Jesus is the messiah. 3) Jesus was whipped and cruicified by his own people just like Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. 4)Joseph was pharoahs right hand man in Eghypt, just like the people of Israel thought Jesus was going to be a great king. 5)They are both well known biblical characters.
Crucifixion was not something that was uinque to Jesus. It was an accepted form of punishment for certain crimes carried out by the 'law' in the time of Jesus. The law being Roman rule, enforced by Roman soldiers. Jesus was sentenced to death after being accused of blaspheming by claiming to be God in the flesh. Blaspheming carried with it the death penalty, much as first degree murder does in our modern courts. I believe that scripture tells us that at least one of the men cruicified with Jesus was a thief, which was punishable by death.
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus and Jesus.
