Otzi the Iceman was important to scientists because he is one of the oldest and best-preserved mummies ever discovered. His remains provided valuable insights into the life and health of Copper Age individuals, including information on diet, clothing, and health conditions during that time period. Additionally, his discovery helped advance our understanding of ancient cultures and human migration patterns.

Why was otzi the iceman's arm across his chest when he was killed or died?

Well, it was believed that when he got shot with an arrow, he fell on the ground, in that position. I was also confused because I am learning about Iceman in school. I'm currently writing an essay. But, people aren't sure how his arm was in that position..~Ashley xx

What were otzi the iceman's last days on earth like?

His last moment on earth were unpleasent because he got shot and probaly bled to death. Otzi the iceman probably had a violent death because theyre was a deep knife wound in his hand. Molecular Biologest Thomas Loy from the University of Queenslands Institute of Molecular Bioscience in Brisbane thinks it is most likely Otzi was in another Hunetrs Territoryand was shot as he ran away and that after he had fled he realized he was going to die so he carefully and neatly put down his belongings then laid down and died.

Why is the iceman from 5300 years ago so important?

The iceman from 5300 years ago is important because he is the oldest known person with a tattoo. They discovered that his simple tattoos were in the same locations used to acupuncture today. So they believe that he was tattooed for medical reasons rather than personal, religious or fashionable reasons. They named him Otzi because he was found in a frozen glacier in the Otztaler Alps. Not only was his simple tattoos important it was also that he was the oldest mummy found from 5,300 years ago. he was believed to be from about 3300 B.C. he was found by 2 German tourists named Helmut and Erica Simon

Why is important for scientists to share information?

So that other scientists can test what you told them.

What happened to Otzi the iceman the day he died?

Some people believe that he was shot by an arrow and that killed him (because of the arrow sticking out of his shoulder). Some people think he was shot with the arrow and then fell down and died of the freezing temperatures. Does this answer your question? My answer: Since Otzi had a tatto on his back (right where the arrow head was found) someone could have been giving him that tatto so the arrow head could have got stuck in his back. It could of gotten infected and he could of died because of the infection. Does that help?
