Shauzia and Parvana have decided to meet each other in front of the Effel tower in Paris, France in 20 years. Nooria was going to Mazar-e-Shari(, unoccupied town north from their home) to get married. Parvana refuses to go, so Mom, Nooria, Maryham, and Ali(baby brother) go to Mazar-e-Shari , while Parvana stays in their apartment with Mrs.Weera. Soon after her family's departure for Mazar-e-Shari, Parvana finds her father outside of the prison(that her mom and her tried to speak with the guards but only got beaten and blisters on their feet from walking) Parvana brings him home so he can rest. Parvana later finds a crying woman named Homa in a building that I think was destroyed. Homa tells Parvana that she has escaped from her home that has just been attacked. The place where Homa escaped from was Mazar-e-Shari, the place where Mom, Nooria, Maryham, and Ali have just headed to. Have they been killed? Have they survived the attack?
