Yes it is.

The planet Saturn is named after the Roman god of farming, Saturn was also the father of the Roman god Jupiter. The planet's symbol is a sickle, a tool that belonged to the Roman god of harvest and was also the weapon Cronos used to castrate and depose his father, Uranus.

Saturn was named by the Romans for the Roman god of agriculture. Saturn was also the god of time, and since Saturn moves the slowest of the planets, this is one reason why the name was chosen.

Saturn was discovered and identified as a planet many years ago. Agriculture was very important to the ancient Greeks and Romans, their lives depended on good harvests and so they believed in a god of agriculture whom they had to please and who was seen as important enough to name one of planets after.

The Greeks and Romans knew that the planets, as they appear in the night sky, were different from stars. All of the planets that could be seen were attached to gods. Saturn (which the Greeks called Kronos), was clearly visible, and moved slowly, like Jupiter, but was clearly lesser. The Greeks still call the planet Kronos to this day.

Actually, Saturn was also the Roman god of time and this is probably why the slowest (in orbit around the Sun) of the five bright planets was named after him. In Roman mythology, Saturn was the father of Jupiter.
