I have listed all of these scriptures to explain that John the Baptist was never a saint. He was put to death before Jesus gave His life for us and was resurrected to Heaven:
John 3:13--" Moreover, no man has ascended into heaven but he that descended from heaven, the Son of man".
Matthew 11:11--"Truly I say to YOU people, Among those born of women there has not been raised up a greater than John the Baptist; but a person that is a lesser one in the kingdom of the heavens is greater than he is".
John the Baptist will be resurrected after Armageddon, to live everlasting life on a cleansed earth, as the rest of us do:
John 5:28, 29--"Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment".
Of course, there is The Transfiguration where Our Lord was seen with Moses and Elijah, as well as the promise He made to the Good Thief (called St Dismas when used a patron saint) Thankfully, there is the Ordinary Magisterium to guide Catholics. And the Church has venerated St John the Baptist for almost two millenia.
Gabriel the Archangel did not become a saint. He was created as an archangel by God, long before the universe even existed. He was created a saint.
To become a hard working President!
In the Bible, Jesus himself did not physically baptize anyone. Instead, his disciples baptized people in his name. Jesus' baptism is recorded in the Gospels, where John the Baptist baptized him in the Jordan River.

The first century Jewish historian, Josephus tells us that John was executed in Macherus because he publicly declared his opposition to Herod Antipas' marriage to his brother's former wife. Antipas feared public discontent unless he disposed of John the Baptist. It is hard to find much in the historical account of John's death about the messiah and the kingdom. However, the four New Testament gospels contain stories about the death of John the Baptist in Galilee and in slightly similar circumstances. Although probably not strictly historical, these may be interpreted in different ways, to elicit ideas about the messiah.
According to tradition, Saint John the Apostle was present at the crucifixion of Jesus along with Jesus' mother Mary. Jesus entrusted Mary to John's care, saying, "Behold, your mother," and to Mary, "Woman, behold your son." John took Mary into his home and cared for her as his own mother.

Saint John Paul II was considered a good role model due to his commitment to promoting peace, human rights, and social justice around the world. He demonstrated compassion and empathy towards those he interacted with, regardless of their backgrounds, and his strong moral values and dedication to serving others inspired many people to live better lives. Additionally, his humility and courage in the face of adversity, such as surviving an assassination attempt, further showcased his resilience and faith.
while some people think it may have been John the Baptist it's a little hard to believe given that he died before most of the events in Jesus life ever happened. Most people believe it was the Disciple, John, who also wrote 1, 2, and 3 John, and Revelation
