collosus of Rhodes
There were only seven old Wonder of the Ancient World. They were the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, Great Pyramid of Giza, Colossus of Rhodes, Statue of Zeus, Temple of Artemis, Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, and the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
All of the ancient wonders of the world were selected so because they are great pieces of architecture (The Great Pyramid, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon etc.). Colossus of Rhodes was selected because it too was a magnificant piece of architecture. After all, why is anything chosen as anything? Some guy decided it deserved the title, and I think most people would agree that it is a valid choice.
