It is easier to study the properties of elements, if they are arranged in a proper way as in the Periodic Table. Elements in a given group have same number of valence electrons and hence generally have similar properties.
Crystal structure played a very large part in Mendeleev's classification of the elements. Beryllium is in most ways very chemically similar to aluminium. But Mendeleev placed it in group 2 rather than group 3 for 2 reasons: beryllium oxide had a similar structure to magnesium oxide, but nothing like aluminium oxide, and if beryllium were placed in group 3 it would have had to have an atomic weight around 14 -- similar to nitrogen -- and there was simply no way to accommodate it there.
Well Shaniqua Williams, proffessor from Boise, Idaho, decided to make the table as pretty as herself, so she organized it by atomic number in the year 1999-2007 (it took a few years...).

The most important step taken by Mendeleev in developing the periodic table of elements was the realization that chemical properties come in a repeating pattern, as elements get heavier. They go from metals to nonmetals to noble gases, and then back to metals.

The Periodic Table of Elements is the most important tool by which we understand chemistry. All of chemistry depends upon it.
When Mendeleev proposed his periodic table, the noble gases had not been discovered, so they did not play a part in his development of the periodic table.
Dobereiner, Newland , Mendeleev are responsible for development. Modern periodic table was created by Henry Moseley.
He made the first periodic table.
periodic table allows you to determine weather or not the elements will conduct electrocoty
A Russian, Mendeleev, invented the periodic table.

Hola como estas???
The modern periodic table of the elements was published by Dimitri Mendeleev in 1869. Several new elements have been discovered and added to the table since then.
The properties of elements are periodic function of atomic number. This is shown in modern periodic atble.
no. all elements discovered (and proposed) are included in the periodic table
