The Globe Is A Model Of The Earth Itself. The Globe Shows Where Places Are Located. It Also Shows The Imaginary Lines That Are Known As The Equator, Longituide, and Latiattuide Lines. The Globe Could Be Used For Learning Geography And Social Studies. Written By ~*YouDontNeedToKnow.*~

Shakespeare described his theatre as "the wooden "O". (letter o) in the Chorus to Henry V. But he was probably talking about the Curtain theatre when he wrote those lines. It didn't matter anyway because most of the outdoor theatres were shaped like doughnuts including the Globe, Curtain, Theatre, Rose, Hope, and Swan. So Shakespeare's phrase isn't necessarily about the Globe at all and certainly never became a nickname for the Globe.
The lines that measure east and west on the globe are called longitude lines or meridians. The prime meridian, located at 0 degrees, divides the Earth into Eastern and Western Hemispheres. Longitude lines run vertically from the North Pole to the South Pole.
Bluebeth: I think you mean the Equator. Hope I helped :-)

It was sometimes called "Hell" since people could come up on stage from the understage through a trap door. That's where the witches in Macbeth made their exit and where Mephistopheles in Marlowe's Dr. Faustus entered from. Although of course Dr. Faustus was never played at the Globe Theatre of Shakespeare's day. It was played at The Rose and also at The Fortune, both of which had "Hells" of their own. The Globe Theatre was only one of many Elizabethan theatres which were all built on similar lines: the Theatre, the Curtain, the Rose, the Swan, the Fortune, and the Hope were all similar theatres at about the same time.
"Parallels" of latitude. Those are the lines that are drawn horizontal on the globe or map.
Not only at the Globe but at all Elizabethan and Jacobean theatres, of which there were several dozen, actors got partial scripts called "sides" with only the actor's lines and his cues on it. This was to discourage actors from selling the scripts to a rival company.
The imaginary lines that run north and south around the globe are called "meridians." They are used to measure longitude and converge at the poles. The prime meridian, which is located at 0 degrees longitude, serves as the starting point for measuring these lines.
The imaginary lines on the globe helps because it divides the Northern Hemisphere from Southern Hemisphere. Therefore, imaginary lines are helpful.
