No military post is going to allow it. You start setting them off, you can expect the MPs to come a-callin' (or I suppose it would be the DoD civilian police now, but the same thing will happen). And if they're found in your barracks room during a health and welfare inspection, they'll certainly be confiscated.

"Barracks" connotes a communal living arrangement typically associated with the armed forces. If so, then yes, he can - and will! On the other hand, even the military allows a certain degree of privacy if you are out of the barracks and in base housing or a dormitory. In some cases a search warrant may be required. Even if it isn't it sure as hell should be! The military has my husband sleeping on an empty cot/floor in a communtity day room at the barracks, because of another soldiers mistake! I think its cruel and should not be allowed to treat our own soldiers in such a manner!!!!
