it was in 1971 that the name silicon valley was used for the first time. Jounalist Jon Hoefler used that term in a couple etc.
Silicon Valley is an area in Northern California known for high technology products and research. Venture capitalists took risks with their funds to hopefully produce high technology products that have been profitable and useful for the world. With high risk investing, the products of Silicon Valley may have never amounted to much.
Trisilicon tetranitride. it is commonly known as silicon nitride, althugh thereare other compounds of silicon and nitrogen. It forms a giant molecule.
The flammability of silicon is not known scientist are still figuring out that.
The US has an area norht of San Francisco, California which is known as "Silicon Valley" where many of the world's largest technology corporations are located. The term originally referred to the region's large number of silicon chip innovators and manufacturers, but eventually came to refer to all the high-tech businesses in the area. The "Silicon Glen" is so named by analogy to Silicon Valley. A glen is a Scottish term for a narrow, deep valley in the Highlands. The term "Silicon Glen" has been in use since the 1980s. It does not technically represent a glen as it covers a much wider area than just one valley, but it does encompass the region where most of the high-tech companies are located in Scottland.
Silicon dioxide is not an element. It is a compound of two elements silicon and oxygen. It is also known as silica
"Si" refers to the chemical element silicon on the periodic table. Silicon is a metalloid found in abundance in the Earth's crust, primarily in the form of silicon dioxide (SiO2), commonly known as quartz. It is widely used in various industries, especially in the production of semiconductors and computer chips.
Silicon is the element in the Earth's crust that has 14 protons. Quartz is crystallized Silicon Dioxide. Flint is also silicon dioxide. The compounds of Silicon are known as silicates.

Computers used to be huge machines that took up an entire room or even floor of a building. This was because they were filled with thousands of vacuum tubes which were about the size of a light bulb. Eventually the tube was replaced by the transistor, which was smaller. Engineers were able to shrink down the transistor more and more over time. By the 1970s, transistors were so small that they could fit thousands of them on a silicon microchip, and this is what allowed the creation of the first "personal computer", which is what gave rise to the computer industry as we know it. The company that created the first silicon microchip was Intel, located in what came to be known as Silicon Valley.
