Muslims believe that Almighty Allah gave us all the choice of which form we wish to take. We are born as humans because we chose the form of a human. We could choose to be Angels who have no free will and exist purely to obey Allah (swt). By choosing to be humans Allah has given us freedom to choose and make decisions. We have the freedom to choose, good or bad, for better or worse. Humans face a harder test but the rewards will be in line with the hardship overcome. You could say, extra bonus/ extra pleasure on choosing the right path.
